Santander Credit Analyst Gabe Tortora currently works in the Credit Underwriting and Portfolio Management line of business. His job before that—Marine.
“I joined the Marine Corps right out of high school, at 19,” Gabe says. He was trained as a signals intelligence analyst and spent five years in the military before leaving to pursue higher education and a different career path.
“After leaving the military, getting into college, going to school, it’s a non-traditional path to employment,” Gabe says. “I was wanting to get an internship as soon as I can, but I didn’t have the transcripts to be able to apply to most large institutions.”
However, things changed dramatically when Gabe had a phone call with a senior leader at Santander about their internship program.
