The Difference You Make:
The Advisor, Compliance Testing (CT) plays a crucial role in ensuring SC is in compliance with state and federal regulations. You will be responsible for conducting regulatory compliance reviews independently or in conjunction with peers. The Advisor is responsible for performing compliance reviews of the various Federal and State laws affecting our business, including but not limited to: Reg. B/ECOA, Reg. Z/TILA, FCRA, FACT Act, FDCPA, UDAP/UDAAP, GLBA/Privacy, Reg. E, SCRA, and MLA.
The purpose of this position is to evaluate policies and procedures, conduct testing to gauge the functionality of essential controls aimed at state and federal compliance, escalate issues related to control deficiencies and regulatory requirements, ensure adherence to enterprise-wide policies, and confirm the effectiveness of remedial actions taken to address identified problems.
Stay up to date with relevant state and federal laws and regulations, ensuring operations adhere to all requirements.
Review and assess existing compliance policies and procedures, recommending necessary updates and improvements.
Document test scope and objectives associated with the review and the control activities being tested.
Create testing scripts and conduct fieldwork (review of policies and procedures and perform transactional testing)
Hold weekly meetings with the line of business during testing to clarify processes and present results of testing to date (including receipt and review of responses from the LOB).
Preparing test presentations that effectively communicate testing results (findings and observations), root cause, and recommendations.
Hold Exit Meetings with the Key stakeholders where agreement on issues occur, ratings are reviewed, and recommendations are finalized.
Prepare and maintain detailed compliance reports and documentation, including regulatory filings, as required.
Track CT findings from discovery to remediation and conducting validation of management actions plans.
Evaluate the design and effectiveness of key controls to address compliance requirements and escalate control deficiencies.
Contribute to the development, implementation, and execution of the compliance testing, reporting programs, and CT Plan.
Develop and executing the CT Plan to monitor for compliance with rules, laws, and regulations.
Participate in the development and enhancement of the CT Methodologies and Standards for testing, monitoring, and reporting.
Develop effective relationships within CT and with other stakeholders including business and technology process owners and Internal Audit.
Promote knowledge sharing and promulgation of best practices across CT and the business.
Identify industry best practices and sharing insight with the CT team on a regular basis.
Inform Compliance management of significant compliance matters that require their attention or action.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Risk Management, and Operations, to ensure seamless compliance efforts.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience: Business, Finance, or equivalent degree. - Required.
Master's Degree in Business, Finance, or equivalent field. - Preferred.
5+ Years Compliance, Legal, Regulatory, or Financial Services. - Preferred.
In-depth knowledge of state and federal Financial Services rules, laws, and regulations, and regulatory requirements.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify compliance risks
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
Experience in planning, executing (including assessment of Policies and Procedures and creating testing scripts) and reporting on Financial Services compliance testing reviews and regulatory issue validation activities.
Knowledge and experience with auditing principles including test planning, risk assessments, development of risks and controls matrices, processes and controls design assessments, controls operating effectiveness testing, transactional access segregation of duties, transactional testing, surveillance systems, and reporting activities.
Awareness of regulatory developments promulgated by federal and state regulators, as well as securities, banking, and futures regulators.
Strong interpersonal skills and experience building strong relationships with stakeholders and engaging teams.
Effectiveness in working within a large scale and complex matrix organization.
Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive.
Highly motivated, strong attention to detail, team oriented, and organized.
Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging.
Ability to work collaboratively with regional and global partners in other functional units.
Experience in managing regulatory exams and relationships with examiners, auditors, etc.
Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint) skills.
Certifications:
CRCM and NAF. - Preferred.

What Else You Need To Know:
The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
