The Difference You Make:
The Sr. Director, Platform & Delivery Management – Commercial Banking is a critical leadership role responsible for designing, delivering, and governing the technology transformation strategy for Santander’s U.S. Commercial Banking business. This role leads platform modernization and process simplification efforts across the Commercial segment, aligning business strategy with scalable, innovative technology capabilities.
The Senior Director will be instrumental in advancing the bank’s enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, with a particular focus on driving change in shared infrastructure and applications across Commercial, Retail, and SME Banking divisions. This includes optimizing shared technology assets and digital services that underpin Santander’s ambition to become a national, digitally led financial institution.
The position also ensures tight alignment with Santander Group global platforms and standards, optimizing integration, cost efficiency, and cross-border collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Technology Leadership
Define a 2–3-year target state architecture and technology roadmap for Commercial Banking aligned to business strategy and enterprise transformation goals.
Serve as a strategic advisor and delivery partner to senior business leaders in Commercial Banking.
Co-lead the development of Target Operating Models that drive scalable growth, streamlined operations, and an exceptional customer experience.
Align Commercial Banking platforms with Santander Group global standards, architectural patterns, and technology governance frameworks.
Platform & Delivery Execution
Lead the modernization of core commercial banking systems (e.g., lending platforms, onboarding, and servicing).
Drive execution of large-scale, end-to-end platform transformation efforts — from solutioning and design through delivery, deployment, and performance measurement.
Establish and enforce strong project governance, delivery metrics, and risk management practices across all initiatives.
Oversee vendor management, sourcing strategies, and delivery team coordination (internal and external).
Enterprise Support for Retail & SME Banking
In addition to leading platform innovation for Commercial Banking, this role will serve as a key enabler of the bank’s broader enterprise transformation strategy by partnering with Retail and SME Banking in driving a more efficient operating model of shared platforms
What You Bring:

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience: Computer Science Engineering or a equivalent discipline. - Required.
- Master's Degree Computer Science Engineering or a equivalent discipline. - Preferred.
12+ Years IT Project Management, Development Team Management and/or Application Portfolio Management.
Leadership experience (10+ years) in a technology management role preferably in Commercial or Small Business Banking; application, data, information security, leading a team through large scale transformation technology change
Proven track record managing large, complex software development/integration projects in both host and distributed environments.
Knowledge of external competition, industry and/or market trends in relation to own business.
Demonstrated understanding of IT Service Management concepts and procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of the latest technology innovations and their applicability to business operations.
Demonstrated relationship management and leadership skills with a superior ability to make things happen through the use of influence and negotiation with all levels of management.
Proactive team player with effective time management skills; ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines/projects and keep key players informed.

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
