What you'll do:
We are seeking an experienced Payments Pre-Sales Associate to join our international commercial team based in New York.
In this role, you will support the sales organization in designing and positioning end-to-end payment solutions for US-headquartered enterprise clients doing business in Getnet’s markets: Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay. You will act as a trusted advisor, combining technical expertise, commercial acumen, and industry insight to deliver tailored proposals that address complex payment needs. This role is a critical partner to the sales team on product and technical matters, and will be responsible for technical ownership of client relationships throughout the entire sales cycle, including the solutioning, integration, and go-live stages.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of acquiring, card processing, alternative payment methods, and payment gateways, capable of working effectively in a highly regulated and competitive global environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support strategic prospecting, client targeting, and value proposition design
- Analyze sales prospect pipeline/opportunities to fine tune targeting and value propositions
- Identify and communicate product and operational gaps for capturing / originating expected prospects or cross-sell / up-sell opportunities
- Oversee the upcoming value propositions to be delivered to market
- Support structuring / generation of product requirements for new verticals and segments
Sales support and client solution design:
- Partner with the sales and relationship management teams throughout the full sales cycle — from opportunity qualification to deal closure
- Conduct discovery sessions with clients to understand their business models, operational/service models, payment flows, and regional requirements
- Design and propose comprehensive payment solutions over the spectrum of acquiring and gateway services as well as other value added services related to client needs within the commerce, payments and banking needs
- Lead RFI/RFP responses, ensuring high-quality technical and commercial documentation aligned with client expectations
- Provide/create necessary tools to both sales and presales teams for optimal sales conversation and conversion
Sales delivery & client product activation:
- Oversee the implementation teams for follow-up of key milestones, making sure solution is built as specified and implementation for commercial readiness is optimized for on-time and in-full deliveries
- Oversee key issues and incidents along the sales cycle until client activation
- Engage client into full activation for early contractual volumes agreed
- Execute client satisfaction and review for the sales and delivery processes
- Provide full go-to-market plans agreed with clients where clear delivery is exposed to internal teams and client teams
- Drive client agreement on scope and as-implemented acceptance for minimizing any deviation or expectations not aligned with agreements
Demonstrations & client engagement:
- Deliver professional product demonstrations and solution presentations to executive-level audiences
- Provide clear technical explanations of complex payment capabilities (e.g. routing logic, 3DS, fraud tools, recurring payments).
- Collaborate with implementation and integration teams to validate technical feasibility before contract signature
Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration:
- Work closely with Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure proposed solutions meet operational and regulatory standards (e.g. PCI DSS, PSD2, AML/KYC) as well as all necessary specs related to value proposition agreed with client
- Coordinate with regional pre-sales teams to maintain consistency in the solution approach across markets
- Provide structured feedback to Product Management & Tech on client needs and market trends to influence future roadmap development as well as technical performance gaps as agreed on SLAs (ex: uptime, latency, etc.)
Market Expertise & Thought Leadership:
- Maintain strong knowledge of global payment trends, schemes, and regulatory environments
- Benchmark competitors and identify differentiators that strengthen our value proposition
- Support marketing and business development activities with subject matter expertise in digital payments and merchant acquiring
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or Finance; postgraduate studies or MBA a plus
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pre-sales, solution consulting, or technical account management within the payments or financial technology industry
- Proven experience with:
- Acquiring and card processing (Visa, Mastercard, Amex).
- Payment gateways and APIs
- Alternative and digital payment methods (wallets, instant payments, open banking)
- Security and compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, SCA, 3DS, PSD2)
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to articulate value propositions at executive level
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese highly desirable
- Availability for international collaboration and occasional travel

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
