Job Description:
Santander Corporate and Investment Banking (SCIB) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Investment Banking Associate to join our dynamic Financial Institutions Group (FIG), offering an exceptional opportunity to contribute to high-profile transactions and drive growth within a leading and global financial institution. As an Investment Banking Associate in the FIG team at SCIB, you will advise clients on a wide range of strategic transactions across Insurance / InsurTech, Specialty Finance, FinTech and Asset Management verticals. You will have an exceptional opportunity to work on small client teams with direct exposure to clients and senior bankers. You will conduct industry research, evaluate key trends and opportunities, develop financial models, perform valuation analyses and manage the execution of transactions. You will also prepare and deliver presentations to clients and senior leadership, while nurturing and building strong relationships with other industry professionals. At SCIB FIG, you will have a unique opportunity to work with clients across different geographies given our strong presence in the U.S., Europe and Latin America.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing content for strategic meetings with clients regarding M&A or capital market transactions
- Interacting with senior team members and client management teams on a daily basis to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives
- Defining, guiding and reviewing detailed valuation analysis, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables and LBO analyses
- Defining, guiding and reviewing detailed combination and other financial analyses in the context of M&A transactions or pitch situations
- Interact and coordinate with teams across various geographies (USA, Europe, LatAm etc.) to present clients with a global view and opportunities
- Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to Associates and Analysts
- Participate in graduate recruiting
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and 2-3 years minimum of experience as an investment banking analyst, or MBA or equivalent graduate degree in a financial discipline
- Direct FIG Investment Banking experience or related experience in Private Equity, Equity Research, or Corporate Development
Preferred Qualifications:
- Outstanding academic record
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical orientation, with experience with financial statement analysis, modelling, and marketing materials preparation
- Demonstrable commitment to and experience with working in teams
- Demonstrated interest in finance and financial markets
