The Difference You Make:

Santander Bank is evolving with the launch of Openbank – a new digital bank with branches and we have exciting ambitions that are bound to transform not only our business and proposition to our customers, as well as the future of banking in general. In this crucial role, you will lead the foundations of our marketing strategy by leading our research and insights, product marketing and partnership marketing teams. The ideal candidate will have the technical skills to define our marketing strategy and approach in each of these functions, inspire and create peer followership with the media, brand and customer experience teams to ensure the set forth marketing strategies come to life and we have the right working models in place for smooth hand-offs from strategy to execution. The successful candidate in this role will set the foundation for 10X business growth and shape the future of our bank in a very pivotal point in time.

  • Acts as a key advisor and partner to the CMO, especially around determining long term growth strategies.

  • Serve as a key thought leader and partner for Bank’s lines of business [LOBs] (e.g. Deposits, Investments, Consumer Finance, Business & Commercial Banking, etc) in driving marketing strategies that support the business targets. 

  • Forge strong relationships with business lines as a key partner in helping them deliver their growth, profitability and retention targets efficiently.

  • Provide input and direction to 3rd party agencies. 

  • Lead Marketing Insights team to ensure briefs are grounded in customer insights and leverage available data to inform creative development.

  • Create and lead cohesive, consistent, and engaging Marketing plans for the assigned business line.

  • Recruit, build and retain a high-performing team

  • Set clear objectives, expectations and strategies for the team to achieve product and business goals.

    Research and Insights Leadership:

  • Oversee a research plan and strategy that maps to the key business needs.

  • Lead the team to execute the research plan with operational excellence – within budget and in line with product development timelines.

  • Guide and empower the team to synthesize research findings into key insights.

  • Invest in building the right governance model and system to disseminate the key insights and findings

    Product and Partnership Marketing Leadership:

  • Build a team of high-performing marketers to help envision, concept, launch and nurture high-performing banking products that embodies the spirit of our brand and delights our customers.

  • Act as a key partner to the product and partnership leadership to influence and drive decisions on our marketing strategy at key milestones.

  • Synthesize teams work into meaningful outputs that helps sharpen the marketing strategy

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience: Marketing or Business - Required.

  • Master's Degree: Marketing or Business - Preferred.

  • 15+ Years experience leading marketing strategy, ideally within consumer banking or digital businesses with expertise in product marketing, research and partnership marketing.

  • Experience working with Matrixed global brands and leading cross functional teams dedicated to strategy

  • Expertise and deep background in Marketing Strategy within Consumer Banking or digital businesses – an expert in product, research and partnership marketing

  • Deep technical skills in product development, concepting, value prop development

  • Keen understanding of different research and analytical approaches that fees into development of marketing strategy

  • Transformational marketer with a "customer first" attitude; adept at thinking about multi-channel marketing strategies that drive customer needs and business growth.

  • Strategic thinker with a growth mindset.

  • A proven track record of developing innovative marketing strategies that drive business outcomes and best-in-class customer experiences.

  • Deep understanding of changing market dynamics and ability to align brand purpose and expression with commercial objectives

  • Strategic mindset with a strong curiosity and ability to distill information to create concise, compelling and authentic messaging, thought leadership, content, etc.

  • Ability to interact skillfully with executive management and a variety of business partners.

  • Ability to manage cross functional project.

  • Excellent business acumen & industry knowledge with demonstrated leadership in providing strategic guidance throughout an organization- a track record of delivering quantifiable results.

  • Ability to cultivate collaboration, value others perspectives and gain support and consensus for business proposals. Ability to establish rapport, credibility, trust and respect.

  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) skills to be able to build POVs to influence senior leadership and inspire messaging that can be consumer/customer-facing

  • Strong analytical abilities for assessing and improving key metrics across multiple marketing vehicles.

  • Good listening skills, a natural people-orientation, and openness to ideas, suggestions, and constructive feedback.

What Else You Need To Know:

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

Base Pay Range

Minimum:

$153,750.00 USD

Maximum:

$270,000.00 USD
