Santander is looking for a Structurer in the Secure Lending Business.

You will be part of the Global Structuring team with people based in Madrid, London and NY but especially focused on US Markets. Structuring team is a strategic team composed by professional who closely follows latest trends of the market and adapts them depending on Markets and or /regulations changes. Main objective is to listen to client needs and propose them solutions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally and with clients. Provides advanced quantitative judgment to solve problems and develop new, innovative solutions.

Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:.

  • Help the growth of the Securities Finance Business in the US especially linked to Securities Product and Credit collateral.
  • Help the Sale force for to originate transactions through product pitches or marketing materials
  • Lead execution of complex transactions
  • Creates new products ideas by researching developments in the industry and understanding the problems that need to be solved on behalf of the team.
  • Solves new business problems that drive the business forwards.
  • Collaborates with Product Management and Product Strategy to promote improvement in product quality and the development of new sources of revenue.
  • Participates in joint calling effort with bankers in an effort to uncover opportunities with our clients.
  • Lead/Participate in meetings with prospects/clients. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business unit teams.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent degree and/or work experience, in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. (Preferred)


Work Experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Structuring.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience and technical knowledge in funding product as fixed income repo and Total Return Swap, as well as money markets in US market.
  • Experience in Managing liquidity and funding along with the various desks within Financial Markets.
  • Experience in collaborate with various internal stakeholders on risk metrics LCR, VaR and RWA.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated presentation skills.
  • Ability to present high-level information as well as detailed demonstrations of products & services.
  • Ability to analyze, determine, drive and build solutions independently and proactively.
  • Analytical skills sufficient to identify trends/opportunities within financial/market data and to locate/interpret competitive information.
  • Exhibit a breadth of understanding of the business challenges facing the bank’s clients.
  • Highly motivated and tenacious; perseverant and resilient in pursuing objectives despite challenges.
  • Solid command of Microsoft office software: PowerPoint/Excel/Word.
  • Quantitative programming / Python knowledge preferable.
  • Spanish or French

Certifications: SIE, Serie 7, Serie 79 and 63

Working Conditions: Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing and walking.
