The Difference You Make:
The Specialist, Model Development participates in developing and maintaining sophisticated empirical models - including credit scoring models - for a nonprime auto lender. The position is highly quantitative in nature and requires an individual capable of taking a "hands on" approach to data analysis. This position is furthermore responsible for summarizing and reporting information to a variety of internal and external clients. Quantitative Modeler is expected to interact with many other departments in the interest of achieving the overall company objectives.
- Participates in the construction of complex mathematical models – including credit origination and customer behavior scorecards - which directly support critical decision making processes and the company’s overall understanding of our business, the markets within which we operate, and our customers.
- Assists in developing the underlying assumptions, theory, empirical evidence, and conceptual soundness of statistical and mathematical models.
- Applies statistical techniques to analyze trends and uncover risks and opportunities relative to portfolio management and originations.
- Uses internal and external data sources to create robust model development datasets.
- Ensures modeling projects are conducted in accordance with established company policies and generally-accepted mathematical modeling practices.
- Encapsulates analytic findings into executive-level summary documents to support senior management decision-making.
- Utilizes data mining and statistical techniques to develop analytic insights, sound hypotheses, and informed recommendations.
- Liaisons internal and external teams to define requirements and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of data elements for analytic projects.

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience: Business, Finance, or equivalent degree. - Preferred.
- 0+ Years Auto Finance industry experience. - Required.
- 0+ Years Sales experience with automotive finance lender strongly preferred - Preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of credit policy rules, state and federal regulations and application processing systems is required.
- Sales experience with automotive finance lender strongly preferred.
- Working business knowledge of credit application systems and DMS providers.
- Demonstrated ability to understand high level financial and process concepts, and create product process roadmaps.
- Ability to formulate and present clear and persuasive presentations, proposals, and project plans.
- Ability to explain statistical concepts to a business audience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.

What Else You Need To Know:
The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
