The Difference You Make:
The Specialist, Retail Banking Strategy plays a critical role in shaping the future of our retail banking business. As part of the Strategy team, you will support the development and execution of initiatives that strengthen our competitive position, enhance customer experience, and drive growth across all retail segments including Deposits, Lending, Investments, Partnerships, and Payments.
Our team is highly cross-functional, working closely with product, business, and functional leaders across the bank to drive forward key initiatives. This role is designed for a curious, creative, and thoughtful self-starter who thrives in ambiguity. You will regularly take on open-ended challenges, help make sense of complex information and distill insights into clear recommendations for senior leadership. You will gain exposure to executive-level decision-making, cross-functional projects, and strategic topics that shape the bank’s long-term success.
This role provides an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate strategy at the intersection of banking, customer experience, and innovation. You will work across Retail segments, collaborating with product, business, and functional leaders to frame critical questions, inform recommendations, and shape the future direction of the bank.
Strategic Planning & Initiatives
- Support the development and execution of strategic priorities for the retail bank.
- Partner with senior colleagues to scope, structure, and deliver strategic projects.
- Collaborate with product, business, and functional leaders to align initiatives and move them forward.
- Assist in framing business problems, identifying insights, and helping to inform recommendations for senior leadership.
- Market Analysis & Competitive Benchmarking
- Conduct market research, customer analyses, and competitor benchmarking to identify opportunities and risks.
- Monitor industry trends and analyze financial/competitive performance.
- Synthesize findings into clear, data-driven insights that shape business decisions.
- Business Transformation & Execution
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that drive improvements in customer experience, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
- Help structure ambiguous problems, track project progress, and measure impact against strategic objectives.
- Provide thoughtful analytical support and execution assistance to ensure initiatives deliver value.
- Executive Communications & Team Support
- Develop compelling executive-level presentations in PowerPoint, ensuring clarity, precision, and impact.
- Use advanced Excel skills to analyze data, model business scenarios, and prepare supporting insights.
- Identifies and researches variance issues, and coordinates resolution with internal and external sources.
- Analyzes data, checks for issues or discrepancies and provides resolution of errors.
- Support workshops, meetings, and working sessions with business stakeholders and senior executives.
- Demonstrate professionalism and confidence when interfacing directly with leaders across the organization.
- Contribute to a collaborative, learning-oriented team environment that values creativity and intellectual curiosity.

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent field. - Required.
- 0+ Years in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or related fields - Required.
- High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel; ability to create clear, persuasive presentations and build advanced analytical models.
- Strong curiosity, creativity, and comfort working through ambiguous challenges.
- Ability to structure complex problems, conduct rigorous analysis, and synthesize insights into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to produce executive-ready deliverables.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated comfort and willingness to interface directly with senior executives.
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a proactive, self-starter approach.
- Exposure to tools such as ThinkCell (for presentation efficiency) and Capital IQ (for market and financial benchmarking).
- Prior internships or coursework in banking, financial services, or strategy.

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
