The Difference You Make -

The AML Policy and Training Senior Associate serves as a subject matter expert for the development of the US wide BSA / AML, Sanctions and Anti Bribery Anti-Corruption Policy, Program, and other administrative documents, ensuring such documents are compliant with regulatory requirements, industry best practices and are appropriately tailored to Santander’s risk tolerance.

Reporting to the Deputy BSA/AML Officer within the BSA/AML and OFAC Advisory team, the Sr. Advisor will ensure the adoption within the business lines and subsidiaries, will develop, and execute gap assessments, and perform policy assurance activities to ensure effective implementation.

The Senior Associate will assess regulatory changes and the impact of such changes to Santander and make recommendations on required process changes.

This role will be responsible for the BSA / AML and Sanctions Training Program including the assessment of training needs, development, and delivery of training materials, and tracking of completion.

This role is based in Boston, Massachusetts and is a hybrid role.

  • Develop, update, and maintain the BSA / AML and Sanctions Policy, Program and supporting documents. 
  • Develop, update, and maintain the Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy. 
  • Develop, track, and manage any required waivers or action plans for implementation of Santander AML requirements.
  • Develop and execute gap assessments and policy assurance activities and support the development of required corrective actions. 
  • Execute an annual training needs assessment and develop a yearly training plan to ensure staff are aware of BSA / AML and Sanctions obligations and risk. 
  • Develop, deliver and track BSA / AML, Sanctions and Anti-Bribery Anti-Corruption Training.

It Would Be Nice for You to Have - Established work history or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.

Education -

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience: Finance, Business, Instructional Design, or equivalent field - Required.
  • Master's Degree Finance, Business, or equivalent field - Preferred.

Experience- 9+ Years Compliance, Legal, Regulatory, or Financial Services. - Required.


Certifications - Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist - Preferred

Skills & Experience -

  • Advanced knowledge of BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC Sanctions regulatory requirements. 
  • Experience monitoring and assessing money laundering and sanctions risk in a retail and commercial banking environment. 
  • Experience planning, executing, and reporting on compliance monitoring and assessment activities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify detailed compliance and project risks while simultaneously understanding overall strategy. 
  • A highly motivated self-starter who is adaptive and skilled at navigating the complexities associated with cross-functional projects and large organizations.
  • Proven success in working both independently and collaboratively. 
  • Excellent at managing multiple projects and consistently meeting deadlines. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience building strong relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders (including examiners and auditors). 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, interacting with non-executive and executive management across business lines and control functions. 
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging. 
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating change to achieve measurable results.
