As a member of Santander’s retail banking division you’ll help serve Santander’s retail and small business customers as part of one of the top banks in the United States based on deposits. With principal presence in the northeast U.S., Santander’s retail division offers consumer and lending products to help our customers reach their financial goals. Santander currently serves nearly 2 million retail customers and 5.2% of the 2.7 million small businesses in the US footprint have a transactional account with Santander Bank.
Responsible for supervising a team and activities for processing/closing of mortgage loans. Interfaces with underwriting, processing, closing and sales; coaches, trains and assists team to meet performance standards; ensures operational integrity, and compliance with regulatory policies and procedures
Appropriately uses signing authority and overrides when necessary, demonstrating thorough knowledge of mortgage products and following all Bank procedures
Completes audits, complying with regulatory policies and procedures
Communicate and implement changes to mortgage processing policies and procedures
Reports process, procedural, or staffing issues within the department to senior management in a timely manner
Supervises and directs activities for a team of Loan Processors: coaches and trains employees; sets daily, weekly and monthly goals and monitors pipeline reports for each processor, ensuring customer and MDO follow up
Ensures the processing staff delivers loans to the closing department in accordance with individual loan requirements
Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in mortgage lending
At least 3 years of professional experience
Ability to prioritize and work in a fast paced environment
Excellent organizational skills
Knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, VA, and State Bond Programs
Prior supervisory experience helpful
Proficient computer skills (eg. MS Word, Excel),Proven exceptional customer service skills
