The Midrange Systems Manager is responsible for overseeing the technical teams supporting all operational aspects of SBNA’s midrange infrastructure, Virtualization, Operating Systems, Database, Storage, Patching and Vulnerability Management. In addition, responds to escalated Incidents as well as support the performance of business-critical systems to prevent delays and outages and quickly resolve ongoing issues. Bilingual: English and Spanish a must.
Direct and lead teams of IT technicians, should be able to effectively manage IT personnel and set team priorities
Develop and implement policies and procedures for the IT department, so familiarity with assessing and improving processes is vital
Assesses system data and error logs, along with user reports, to determine areas for improvement or repair. Determine when systems or servers are due for upgrades.
Direct IT Technicians:
Direct the activities of IT technicians, both to directly support end users and to assist with IT department upgrades and directives.
Develop Department Policies and Procedures:
Follow the standards and develop corresponding policies, procedures to allow adherence to Corporate IT Standards.
Annual review of policies, procedures, hardening guides, and adherence to regulatory requirements such as NIST, FFIEC and other key Banking regulations.
Develop and manage best practices for:
- System upgrades
Patching and vulnerability remediation, working closely with Information Security and have understanding of InfoSec regulations
Continuous improvement to strengthen the Problem Management and resolve systemic issues and risks.
Negotiate Vendor contracts and management of Vendor contracts.
Financial management to the department budget, ensuring budget forecast and expense requests are accurate
At least 15-20 years experience in senior position and growth with technical and management experience.
Must have prior experience in large environment supporting 6K+ servers
Ability to work with Global Resources across different cultures and time zones.
Proven track record leading diverse teams supporting both servers and extensive training on computer software and hardware to successfully lead IT departments.
Key technologies: Linux, Windows, AIX, Oracle, SQL, VMWare, SAN, Storage (IBM and NetApp)
This role requires an IT Operations mindset with 24x7 environment and regular weekend activities to supervise and manage critical infrastructure changes.
Strong written and verbal communicators, able to communicate with team members, management personnel, and end users throughout the organization
Excellent problem-solving skills, especially when it comes to directly addressing Major Incidents with software, hardware, and servers
Computer engineering or Masters of Science, Engineering
