WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The Associate, Controllership is primarily responsible for implementation and maintenance of regulatory reports in the Financial Reporting Software (Axiom), ECB risk weighted assets under IRB Advanced Approach Model, and other projects and tasks as assigned. Processes and outputs to be established and completed in accordance with standard policy and procedure of the SHUSA Accounting and Reporting and consistent with the applicable regulations and instructions of the applicable reports.

• Analyze/Model system data files for direct feed to reporting applications
• Define business rules/translation tables according to the regulatory reporting guidance
• Configure, test, and finalize reports for production
• Define and configure validations and edit checks for various reports
• Establish and maintain change management
• Execute controls and/or establish new controls as needed
• Ensure compliance with internal IT security policies
• Develop and deliver training programs to users
• Act as subject matter expert for managed applications
• Design and maintain end user production reporting in production phase
• Assists end users with report and query development and maintenance in supported applications
• Employ best practices in the design of system processes to support information loads, validations and reporting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years relevant experience in banking/financial analysis; financial systems management experience required 
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business environment
• Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines
• Advanced database skills (Access, SQL, Oracle, SAS)
• Advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel formula development, pivot tables, macro development, familiarity with text, look-up and reference, data and financial functions)
• Solid understanding of bank accounting (BS,IS) required,
• Excellent math and analytical skills; detail oriented
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Prior SAP Business Objects report development experience preferred
• Prior Axiom experience, preferred
• Knowledge of European Basel III capital reporting, preferred
• Proven ability to leverage technology to improve and automate business tasks
• Proven project management skills
• Strong understanding of financial controls and system validation methods
